Apply a Ramp Texture

  1. Create a NURBs Surface Torus
    • – Apply a ramp texture to the torus
  2. Adjust the Ramp Textures Properties
    • – Select the surface
    • – Open up the Attribute Editor
    • – Click on rampShader1 in the Attribute Editor.
    • – Notice for the Color section, there is a gradient map
      • Selected Color: Pick as many colors and the object will blend to each color.
      • ex:
      • – Here we applied two colors and rendered the result.
      • – Notice the overall color is blue but the shadows are a deep purple.
      • – You can change the affect of the colors by Color Input.
      • Color Input: Changes the direction of the light onto the object.
        • ex: Facing Angle: This adjusts the color to whatever is facing the camera, one color is apparent while whats not facing the camera is another.
  3. Adjusting other Ramp Attributes
    • – You can adjust the Transparency and the Incandescence as a ramp. Ex: For materials like glass and silk.
